Something ya'll must understand: Pride month is still necessary and now more than ever!
Since the world has stepped back in time, now it seems like we all over again need pride month just as much as we needed in the past.
No, I wouldn't want to be heterosexual, but that doesn't mean I "choose" to be queer. I'm assigned female at birth (although trans-masculine) and I'm attracted to other people assigned female at birth (regardless of gender/identity). I don't like people assigned male at birth because it feels unnatural to me. Perhaps just as unnatural as homosexuality feels to a heterosexual person! What's stunning to me is that I still need to even explain this at all.
We celebrated Pride Month with Gothenburg annual Pride Parade a few weeks ago
And it was so necessary! My partner is trans and bisexual and so am I. It was so great to celebrate together. But... On a corner of the square in the middle of Gothenburg stood some protesters with a megaphone. They told us to repent and that it was not okay to be LGBTQIA+ and as a Christian myself, I felt ashamed and hugged my rosary extra hard in my hand when the parade bypassed them. They are the reason why the pride month even exist! Because it's not safe for everyone to be out and proud of themselves.

We taking steps backwards...
It feels like we taking steps backwards. With politicians taking harmful decisions and in this fallen world, we can se first hand how this damages people in marginalized groups.
Pride month will never disappear as long as this world is the way it is. And I fear it will always be necessary to have month of remembering that not all of us are safe in society.
We need to stop doing this about heterosexuals because it has nothing to do with them. It's not wrong to be hetero, obviously! You guys have the default that's why we don't have straight pride. Not a thing I thought people still said in 2026, but apparently heterosexual people still wondering why they don't have their own pride parade... You wouldn't want one! Because if you had one it would be because you were marginalized and mistreated! You aren't hate-crimed so stop all this imagined persecution...
Conclusion
Unfortunately, Pride is a thing that will always exist because LGBTQ people will always be in the minority. I don't think we will ever become entirely accepted in a world that idolizes normativity like this world does.
